Go Backs For Days

I've been working at the new retail job for 2 weeks now. I vacuum floors, straighten clothes, maintain the fitting room, and do racks and racks of go-backs for hours. It's bringing me back to the good 'ole Hollister days. But back then (6 years ago!) I was a senior in high school. I'm currently a college graduate. It's humbling. But I really need this experience. And, really, I'm finding ways to enjoy it. When I'm stuck in the fitting room, I give advice to customers concerning what looks good, what doesn't, and what can and should be paired with what. You would think most of the stuff I give advice on would be common sense, but you'd be surprised ("Since the top is oversized and volumnous, you really need to keep the bottoms small and simple. Think tights, leggings, or skinny jeans." ..."But what about these wide legs pants?"... "Uh uh, sweetie.") Pretending to be everyone's personal stylist, and not merely the guardian of the fitting room, makes the time go by more quickly. And it even adds a little fun. Fitting room duty fun? Who would have thought?
